DIY Lavender Face Scrub

1

Hello, lovelies! In my last skin care article, I gave you my top 3 favorite products. Today I’m going to share with you my favorite beauty DIY, my lavender face scrub. This quick and easy recipe will have you ditching your over priced face scrub in no time. It’s such a refreshing scrub to use, especially during the winter. Plus it’s a lot more affordable and doesn’t contain horrible additives like most face scrubs out there do.

All you will need to make this face scrub is coconut oil, sugar (I use regular cane sugar but any kind will do), and lavender essential oil. The sugar will exfoliate your skin while the coconut oil will help to moisturize it. The lavender essential oil will, not only make the scrub smell lovely, but it can also help clear up acne. This specific oil contains properties that can fight inflammation and other bacteria that causes acne.

DIY Lavender Face Scrub:
• 1/2 cup of coconut oil
• 1/4 cup of sugar (add more for a more coarse scrub)
• 10 drops of lavender essential oil

Instructions:
1. In a medium sized bowl, mix the coconut oil and sugar together until combined.
2. add the lavender oil and mix again.
3. place scrub in a seal-able glass jar and keep in a cool & dry place.

That’s it! Told you it was quick and easy. I use this face scrub 2-3 times per week but how often you should use it depends on your skin. If your skin is oily or dry I suggest using the scrub no more than twice per week. If you have more normal skin, feel free to use this scrub two to three times per week. If you have sensitive skin or past the age of 40 I don’t advice using the scrub more than once per week. As we age, the outer layer of our skin thins and using a face scrub too often can damage the skin.*

*Please note I am not a doctor& take note to how your skin reacts to the scrub. If your skin is having a poor reaction please either use it less or not at all.
